Gallery: Ordinary Backdrops by Louis de Belle

28 Feb

Ordinary, but different: The photographic documentary Ordinary Backdrops, shot in Japan, is about witnessing the Japanese suburban scenario: visually odd yet everyday elements of the city’s infrastructure.

The photographer Louis de Belle is looking at Japanese suburbs with they eyes of a visitor and conceptual photographer, but still points out the very heart of the structure and concept of how Japanese suburbs are built and concepted.

Still, the photos also are taken following a  certain general aesthetic approach. Would we know that this is Japan, if we just saw the pictures?

A fascinating photo series of an interesting motif which hasn´t been explored by many photographers yet.

Louis De Belle was born in 1988 in Milan and is a MFA student at the Bauhaus University of Weimar and a Berlin based photographer.
